Lock & Key are back! And then some. Coming in hard with the release of their first new music in nearly 3 years, 'Changes', recorded and produced by Myroslav Borys [Marthyr Defiled, Borders, Monasteries], the UK hardcore kings are looking forward to jumping straight back in after their time away.
Vocalist
Rich had this to say about the band's comeback and new single: 'Changes is about taking control of
situations where other people seem to have the upper hand over you. The
backbones of the song was actually written some time ago. When we realised that
we were all eager to jump back into music this was the track we decided was the
one we should come back with. The time apart really helped us all develop as
people and musicians. We’re all excited to carry on building memories and
friendships along the way!'

Lock &
Key was created from a collaboration of like minded musicians in late 2013
following the near-death illness of vocalist Richard Lardner.
Following the release of debut single ‘So Alone’ in early 2014, a slew of shows
followed including European dates with Devil in Me and Deez Nuts and appearances at Macmillan Fest,
Ghostfest and Make a Scene, all helping to cement a solid live reputation.
With their debut EP 'The Divide' (Small Town Records) in September 2014, came a
flurry of high profile tours and appearances with Architects, Thy Art is
Murder, I Killed the Prom Queen, Veil of Maya, Oceans Ate Alaska and Bury
Tomorrow to name a few. Features swiftly followed in Kerrang! Fresh Blood,
Rocksound and Metal Hammer as word of the band's live reputation spread across
the scene. EU/UK festival slots followed in 2015 including Summerblast, Throwfest,
Butserfest & Camden Rocks, further strengthening their status as one of the
forerunners in the UK hardcore scene.
Their debut
album ‘Peaceless', released in April 2016 (Crooked Noise Records) reached #9 on
UK iTunes Metal Charts, before personal commitments and the pursuit of other
musical opportunities led to a seeming permanent hiatus.
But that's all in the past. Fast forward to 2019 and Lock & Key are back with
a vengeance and ready to stir things up.
More music and more shows to follow...the
peace is over.
